It is with great joy and excitement that I would like to welcome one and all to the SATAI family!
A year in the making, and with its humble origins born from an idea of fostering mutually beneficial collaboration between South Africa and Taiwan, we are now standing at the beginning of something amazing! We have proven that as South Africans living in Taiwan we all share a common passion : Our love for South Africa, and a desire to share our amazing culture with Taiwan. The attitude and commitments from all those involved in getting us to this point is testament to the fact that we all live and believe in "Ubuntu" : I am because WE are!
With that said, the easy part has been done, now the work begins and we start to put our words into action. As a united team in our efforts to achieve the goals set forward by our leadership, I'd like to remind everyone that no great deed was ever achieved in a single day, nor was it accomplished without the full efforts of all those involved. At times we may feel overwhelmed with the tasks that lie ahead, but always remember that you have the full support of each one of us here, and that by achieving several small goals over a period of time, you will eventually unlock that ultimate goal and stand at the summit of achievement. The greatest buildings in history were started with a single brick, and it is the sum total of all those "single bricks" laid meticulously and with purpose that have given those builds the strength to stand the test of time.
This is my hope for each and every person who joins and becomes a member of SATAI, that your vision is to help us build a legacy with purpose and meticulous effort, so that the projects we take on have the foundations and strength necessary to benefit all those who come afterwards, for many years to come.
I'd like to encourage every person reading this to take the time to think about ways you can contribute towards SATAI achieving the goals it has set. Whether you are interested in performing arts, education, sports, commerce, community affairs, teaching, or culture, there is a place in the SATAI family for you. Take a step outside of your comfort zone, and challenge yourself to make the difference you want to see. No matter how small or how big, your actions will always speak louder than words, and they will, without a doubt, make a difference and add benefit of our community.
All actions start with an idea, so make use of our online forum to voice your ideas. Encourage debate and alternative perspectives, then work together with a team of like-minded individuals to bring to life the ideas that you have in a way that will promote and foster a strong and ever growing relationship between South Africa and Taiwan. If you have made it this far into the blog, chances are that there is some spark inside of you wanting to ignite a fire. Well this is where you have the chance to do just that. Take action now and light that fire!
Moving forward we will continue to work hard to add valuable information and insights for all our members. We will be drawing on personal experiences and professional opinions to give you the best advice possible. We will actively be seeking industry professionals to share their valuable insights with us and make their knowledge available to you. We will pride ourselves on bringing you the facts as they are relevant to you, making sure that you are able to make the best, informed decisions possible.
We also hope that those with the knowledge and experiences will be willing to step forward and share their insights with our community. I have no doubt that our community is full of individuals who have priceless knowledge that will be able to help our community members in some way or another. South Africans are not only diverse in culture, but in knowledge and experiences too, and by sharing with the community you will be enriching the lives of so many others in ways you never thought possible. Remember, no matter how big or how small, your actions will speak louder than words, and somewhere down the road make an immeasurable difference to someone's life!
With all of that said there is only one thing left for me to add here:
On behalf of our esteemed Chairwoman, the entire Board of Directors, and Founding Members of SATAI, I wish you a warm welcome to the family, and look forward to sharing in your journey with us as we strive towards building a solid and long lasting relationship between South Africa and Taiwan through the power of interexchange.
