A severe storm recently hit South Africa's KwaZulu-Natal province, resulting in 11 fatalities and over 100 people being displaced. Shelters have been set up to provide humanitarian aid to the affected families. My thoughts are with all those who have been affected. This situation made me ponder, "Where do we go, and do others know where to go?" How could we find safety here in Taiwan?

These centers not only offer shelter but also focus on helping evacuees transition back to normality.

Shelters are for immediate, short-term needs, focusing on safety and essential needs. Centers/Parks cater to longer-term recovery, offering more extensive support and resources.
Air Defense Shelters: A Safe Haven in Air Attacks
Air defense shelters are specialized facilities designed to protect civilians during air attacks. These shelters are typically underground and fortified to withstand blasts and debris, providing maximum protection during emergencies.
Key Features of Air Defense Shelters:
Underground Safety: These shelters are built underground to provide maximum protection from explosions.
Fortified Structures: They are reinforced to withstand significant impact and provide a secure environment.
Basic Provisions: They are stocked with essential supplies such as water, food, and first aid kits to support occupants for a short duration.

Have you ever thought about where your nearest evacuation center is? Just like the Air Defense Shelter stickers we see everywhere, it's crucial to know where your local shelters and centers/parks are located. When I do a simple Google search for Taoyuan City, I get this: Disaster Prevention Parks. There are multiple evacuation centers around the island in case of emergencies; find yours. These centers are there to provide safety and essential services when you need them the most.
